Little Linguists (Forlì and Forlimpopoli)
Little Linguists is an English school for children and teenagers aged 2 to 19, with two locations in Emilia-Romagna: Forlì and nearby Forlimpopoli. The school is led by its director, Deb Nicholas, and its mission is to help young people in the region become “citizens of the world” who feel at ease using English. It is a Cambridge English Preparation Centre, working with students towards Cambridge certificates from A1 to C2. The school also stresses inclusion and respect for the environment, and its classrooms use wooden and eco-friendly materials.
The main courses start in September and January. Each consists of 10 weekly lessons of 50 minutes, and two teachers are in the room so that every child gets individual attention. The school’s year also includes free “Welcome!” trial lessons at the start of the year, Springlish (a five-lesson outdoor mini-course in March), and Cambridge exam preparation in May for Movers, Flyers, B1 Preliminary for Schools, B2 First for Schools, C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency. Little Linguists Summer follows from June to August, with one-week courses grouped by age, which the school describes as real English courses and not just a summer camp. The year ends with a “Back to School” refresher in early September.
The students are mainly young children and teenagers from Forlì, Forlimpopoli and the surrounding area, grouped by age. The school’s name and teaching style, built on games, songs, movement, stories and flashcards, reflect its focus on younger learners. Families are closely involved: after each lesson the school sends parents a WhatsApp message summarising the lesson and the homework, which the school calls
FUN and classrooms (which have no desks, since everyone sits on the floor in circles) are called learning rooms. .
Little Linguists is a Dyslexia Smart School: all of its teachers and administrative staff have completed the Dyslexia Smart Teacher Course, which gives them the tools to support dyslexic and ADHD learners and adapt their lessons accordingly. Other services include a lending library of English books and DVDs for students, and Little Linguists Travel, study trips to colleges in England and Ireland that began in 2026, run with the partner StudiaMondo and accompanied by the director.
