International House Milan & San Donato
International House Milan & San Donato is an English language school with two sites in Lombardy, one in the city of Milan (Corso Lodi) and one in San Donato Milanese. It was founded in San Donato in 1982 as Centro Lingue Tradint. The Milan school opened in 1997, and from then on the school has been part of the International House World Organisation, a network of more than 160 schools in 52 countries. In November 2025 it was inspected by IH World and awarded the Quality Assured badge for 2025–2028. It is also a Cambridge exam centre and an official IELTS test centre.
The school offers English courses for adults, children and companies, including Cambridge exam preparation and a blended course format that combines live lessons with independent study. It runs an official IELTS test centre with preparation courses and also offers Cambridge Linguaskill, an online English test. Its teacher-training department runs the Cambridge CELTA and DELTA, TKT courses and specialist courses for teaching young learners, plus workshops and an annual teachers’ conference in Milan.
The school serves a varied group of learners: children and teenagers, adults, working professionals and companies, candidates sitting English exams and tests, and English teachers at every stage of their careers. All teachers are native speakers or bilingual, with CELTA, DELTA or equivalent qualifications and regular professional development. The school pays particular attention to the safety of young learners.
Beyond its courses, the school offers a free online English level test and, according to its website, free English courses (levels A2–B2, in person or online) taught by trainee teachers. It also runs free community events in English, such as readings and workshops for children and pub quizzes for adults. It takes a visible approach to sustainability, with solar panels at the San Donato site and reusable bottles for students, and it accepts Italian cultural vouchers and teacher-bonus schemes as payment.
